GUEST POST: New TV Show Launches to Help People Navigate the Pandemic
As we approach the one-year mark of the first statewide restrictions enacted due to the pandemic, it has become more important than ever to make sure people have access to the resources they need to cope with the changes brought on by COVID-19.
A new TV show scheduled to launch on Monday, March 15, 2021 aims to help people navigate the pandemic. Expert Connexions will bring the experts to you every Monday morning, immediately following Good Morning America at 9 a.m. on WLAJ-TV in the Greater Lansing viewing area. It will also be streamed online at wlns.com/expertconnexions.
Figures show that roughly one-third of small businesses across the country are shut down, with many in danger of never reopening. For those that are operating, revenue is down significantly, according to TrackTheRecovery.org, a website maintained by Opportunity Insights, a not-for-profit organization at Harvard University.
“Behind every struggling small business is a small business owner, who has often poured his or her life savings into building out their dream,” said Julie Holton, Host and Executive Producer of Expert Connexions. “Our team at mConnexions is passionate about helping these businesses because we live it ourselves every day. This is why we have teamed up with WLAJ-TV to create Expert Connexions, a show designed to connect our audience to the experts they need to run their business and respond to changes in their everyday lives.”
Holton launched Expert Connexions as a live interview series on Facebook on March 15, 2020, just prior to the first statewide shutdown in Michigan. With tens of thousands of views in the first few weeks, Holton says it was quickly apparent that people needed access to the information that the show provided.
A storyteller at heart, Julie Holton is the Owner and Principal Strategist of mConnexions, a full-service marketing and communications agency that focuses on developing digital marketing solutions for clients. Before launching mConnexions in 2017, Julie led the strategic marketing directives for a mid-sized law firm of nearly 50 attorneys practicing 70+ areas of law at three offices across Michigan. Prior to that, Julie spent more than ten years working in top television newsrooms across the country, as an Emmy award-winning writer, producer, and executive producer. Julie worked with her news teams to develop digital and social media strategies – even before social media sites began to peak in popularity.
